I am traveling to US along with my 7 months old kid. Please provide me some advice about air travel and cold conditions in US. I know this is a winter season and much cold in US. I am a worried man about my kid.
some tips
1. avoid air travel for first six weeks after birth
2. Your baby's ears may damage because of Changing cabin pressure. If your baby has an ear infection or upper respiratory tract infection, air travel may be uncomfortable.
3. Also be prepared to feed your baby during the flight. Baby formula, baby food, expressed breast milk, juice and water are allowed on board in reasonable quantities.
1. When planning air travel with baby, telephone your airline or visit their website to find out what facilities they offer for parents of young children.
2. If possible, see if you can fly on a larger aircraft, which will have better facilities for baby.
3. If you do book an extra seat, think about taking a car seat on board for your baby to sit in. Certain car seats are FAA approved for air travel with baby, so this is something to check when buying one.
4. Make sure you pre-book your seats to ensure that you are seated next to whoever you are travelling with. If not, you may find yourself at the opposite end of the plane to your partner (not that they'll be complaining)!
5. Check this questions with your airliner before you travel
a) What are the current rules about packing liquids, gels and aerosols in cabin baggage?
b) Can I take baby food and formula on an airplane? Do these need to be in 3oz containers, too?
c) What type of baby food formula and juice?
d) Can I carry on powdered formula and water to mix on board the airplane?
e) Breast milk
f) Can I use ice packs on an airplane to keep baby food and milk cool?
g) What about flying with medicine for my baby?
